About the team
Philip Anderson-Dyer: Company Producer
Phil first became interested in theatre when he worked at the Arts Theatre, Cambridge back in the 90's. Since then he has gained experience in all sides of the business; working front of house, stage door, marketing and back stage; one of his favourite memories includes working with Pete Postlethwaite during his wonderful show Scaramouche Jones. Phil is also accomplished in the education sector. His experience includes working with children who have special needs and disabilities and his work history includes both the Richmond Theatre and the University of Cambridge. His theatrical production credits include the musical Chu Chin Chow at The Finborough Theatre and 'A Skull in Connemara' at the White Bear Theatre, and his producing for Bunbanter earned him a place as one of the five finalists for a Channel 4 Talent Award in 2008. Although Philip turns his hand to everything in the theatre you are more likely to find him in the theatre bar somewhere, drinking a Guinness and reading scripts.

Alexandra Anderson-Dyer: Founding Artistic Director
Alexandra was brought up in deepest Suffolk where her love of all things folkie was born. She is an impulsive, dedicated, actress and director whose travels have seen her move all over the place and even to Ireland in the name of a bet! She feels a great sense of connection with her Celtic roots and certainly "stands sure" on what she believes; as her family motto suggests. Although she might not like to broadcast it, Ali is extremely experienced and has a background of over 15 years in the theatre and just over a decade in teaching. She describes herself as a little elfin folkie with a rather loud exocentric side and when she is not in a rehearsal room, the studio or in the Bunbanter office, you'll find her teaching private LAMDA lessons and the students of the Bunbury Banter Saturday School. Ali has recently been working her directing muscle assisting both Alex Sutton and Samuel Miller while her production of The Fastest Clock in the Universe goes up at the BAC in June 2010.
For all those confused. Glennon Anderson is her stage name. To read an interview with Ali:
Samuel Miller: Creative Producer/Director/Commissions
Sam was born and grew up in Belfast, but confusingly comes from American parents and now lives in London, all of which has left him with an impossible-to-place accent. He has been directing theatre professionally since 2005, with a long list of productions to his name of every conceivable variety. Sam has a particular love of cutting-edge new writing, having worked with alumni of the Paines Plough, Royal Court, Old Vic, and Soho Theatre new writing programmes. However, he is particularly interested in plays that come from unexpected sources – such as at-risk young people or ex-offenders. Sam’s own company Across the Pond reflects this desire to create theatre without barriers or gulfs between artists. When he isn’t in a rehearsal room, Sam can generally be found either doing chin-ups in the park or sampling whiskies in various theatre bars, where he would be more than happy to indulge in hours of conversation about the state of British theatre, should you feel the urge to approach him.
Gareth Brown: Writer/Sponsorship/Reader
Gareth moved from Liverpool to London in 2009 to pursue a creative career. He graduated in Media Production at Northumbria University, Newcastle (2007). He has made numerous short films and has had a number of plays broadcast for radio. Performing improvisational and standup comedy led him to appear at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. He has worked for the BBC, Northwest Vision and Media and numerous other media companies, working as a runner, a researcher and a content editor.
Andrew Thomson: Technical Director
Andy has been involved in music and audio since his school days, gigging all around the country and recording in studios. A passion to be on the other side of the mixing desk drove him to Leeds Metropolitan University at the age of 22. Now working fulltime as a freelance Sound Designer and Music Producer he has created audio for TV, Radio, Internet and Film. Andy is also a signed music producer with a separate publishing deal creating dance remixes for a number of clients. With both club and commercial releases under his belt he hopes to take the music industry by storm……. or just make some money.
Henry Douthwaite: Actor/Marketing/Reader
Henry has been a professional actor for 8 years and has been involved in a variety of productions in various mediums which probably suits his mongrel like background having grown up in London, Cambridge and Bath.
Since becoming a father Henry has largely focused on film work, but given a chance to become more involved in the creative side of the process appealed and as well as taking his writing seriously he is now active with the Bunbury Banter Theatre Company. He recorded in series 4 and 7 and is now reading and seeking Patronage as well as working on his own projects.
Jake Butt: Resident Reader/Writer
Jake is currently working on varied writing projects for the stage intending to showcase some exciting fresh work in the near future. Last year Jake Directed and Produced a production of Anthony Neilsons 'Year of the Family' at the Mumford Theatre in Cambridge and in December 2005 also Directed and Produced Philip Ridleys 'The Fastest Closk in the Universe' both to local acclaim. Previous Acting roles include Pizzaro in Peter Shaffers 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun' and Vivaldi in 'Daughters of Venice' by Don Taylor. He is currently being inspired by the birth of his first son, and hopes to swap the nappies back with the keyboard some time soon!
John Dyer: Company Photographer and Secretary
John is a fantastic photographer and we are so lucky to have his photography skills helping us with our work for both Bunbanter and Bunbanter Education. John has also kindly agreed to act as company secretary. He is often found reading Alan Bennet, going to the theatre and working too hard! Contact him for any company issues.
