Dumfries: Theatre Uncut – Power Plays 2018
The Bunbury Banter Theatre presents Dumfries: Theatre Uncut – The Power Plays
Political theatre made for everyone, everywhere.
Three brand new plays by women on power, performed by the people of Dumfries.
In the wake of #TimesUp, #MeToo, the Women’s Marches, and 100 years since the first women could vote, this year’s Theatre Uncut plays bring together some of the UK’s most dynamic voices to explore the theme of power from the female perspective.
A community-led production, this event features plays written by Niellah Arboine, Vivienne Franzmann and Sabrina Mahfouz, and directed by Ali Anderson-Dyer.
The Bunbury Banter Theatre Company present a dynamic evening of script-in-hand performances with discussion, debate and possibly even cake!
Watch, listen, eat and have your say.
Theatre Uncut was created to get people thinking, talking and taking action on the events that are happening in the world around them.
The idea is simple. Playwrights from a selection of countries are asked to write brand new short plays in response to their current political situation. These scripts are then made available for anyone to perform anywhere for a limited period.
Since its inceptionin 2011 over 6,500 people, in 26 countries, across 4 continents have downloaded, performed and explored Theatre Uncut plays; and now, Theatre Uncut comes to Dumfries!
